Roofs under trees and the gutters below
Tiled and slate roofs near trees collect leaves, twigs and moss. Moss holds water against tiles, and in winter freezing can lift and crack them. Moss falling from the roof ends up in gutters and downpipes, blocking them.
Roof cleaning is only part of the answer. We also check the condition of the tiles, ridge and flashing from the ground or a safe access position, and we suggest clearing the gutters. If we think a roof has failing tiles or damage, we say so and recommend a roofer. Outbuildings with old cement sheet roofs may contain asbestos and should not be jet washed.
